This virtual museum underground-overground is dedicated to investigating and exploring the complexity of the production of mass-produced soft toys that are available today. These toys may have been given away as freebies (like Wellington) or purchased for cash.
The ultimate aim of underground-overground is to raise awareness of the living and working conditions of people, through a close examination of everyday objects. At this stage, however, in the museum's evolving-life, we provide a creative online space to allow for the collection and archiving of an eclectic range of information about global mass soft-toy production. This information can take the form of images (still and moving), figures, facts, statistics and stories from a worldwide audience.
Do you have a soft toy at home or maybe on a key ring, or that you recently bought for someone as a gift? Enter the Project Room now and see how you can take part as a contributor.
